The Local Church Matters
The local church is a divine institution. It is the backbone of America and a centerpiece of all civilization. A local church-the gathered body of believers in a congregation-is an organization unlike any other. From the driver's seat of pastoral ministry in the context of the local church, Dr. Timothy Pigg offers an insightful and engaging look into what makes Christian churches exceptional in all of human history. Whether you are interested in joining a church, simply want to learn more, or find yourself curious as to why entire governments, secular institutions, educational establishments, and political leaders often are concerned by and oppose the work of the local church, this book is for you. A brief and engaging work, you will not want to put it down. Indeed, the local church matters!
As senior pastor of Fellowship Church in Immokalee, Fla., Timothy Pigg is committed to text-driven preaching, evangelism, and discipleship. A conservative Southern Baptist, Pigg has served in a variety of roles with the Florida Baptist Convention and has been a featured speaker on multiple panels and at evangelism conferences. Having served several churches, Timothy champions the high calling of the pastor and believes that the most pressing issues facing communities and the nation are solved through the ministries of a local church functioning biblically. Pigg holds a doctoral degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
